TOP PHOENIX MOVING COMPANY JOINS THE FIGHT AGAINST HUNGER IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Low Budget Movers Partners With Move For Hunger

Move for HungerPHOENIX, AZ Low Budget Movers, a residential and commercial relocation company located in Phoenix AZ, has joined forces with Move For Hunger, offering their moving services to food banks in the area. Move for Hunger mobilizes a national partnership of moving companies to deliver food to needy families and individuals: to date, the organization has delivered more than 7 million pounds of food – 6 million meals – to food banks throughout the United States and Canada. Over 622,000 people in Maricopa County are affected by food insecurity and hunger; 1 in 5 children in the county go to bed hungry each night. Low Budget Movers has generously offered to provide its moving services to the non-profit organization, putting its laborers and fleet of trucks to good use in helping the local community’s neediest residents.

Moving companies like Low Budget Movers often find themselves responsible for throwing away discarded personal possessions—for most people, moving is the perfect time to throw away unneeded items. In many cases, food items are the first to go. Now that Low Budget Movers is a Move For Hunger partner, its movers will be collecting those food items and delivering them to the local food bank. This service costs nothing to customers who typically leave canned foods and other non-perishables behind when moving, yet turns every move into a chance to make a real difference in someone’s life.

“We are thrilled to have Low Budget Movers join us in the fight against hunger,” says Adam Lowy, Founder and Executive Director of Move For Hunger. “With such devastating hunger statistics at both the local and national level, their efforts will provide crucial support to the food bank’s mission to feed the hungry.”

“When we realized how many of our neighbors were going hungry, we knew we had to do something,” explains Brian Myers of Low Budget Movers. “Move For Hunger gives us the opportunity to help our community in a meaningful way.”

The number of Maricopa County residents affected by food insecurity represents 16% of the population, including over 249,000 children. It has never been more important to come together to help neighbors who have fallen on hard times. Through the support of partners like Low Budget Movers, Move For Hunger continues to help the nearly 50 million Americans struggling to find their next meal.
